Archive - Mosaics
When I began the sketch for this mosaic, my intention was my life as a rollercoaster, the twists and turns, the ups and downs, the joys and sorrows, and me "showing up" and disappearing. But as I started creating it, my feelings and understanding changed. I seemed to get a broader perspective. It was as if I were able to look at my whole life realizing that it was more like a beautiful dance including the mundane (i.e. the routine and ordinary) and the sacred (i.e. the intimate, sensual, and authentic). Listening to Leonard Cohen sing "Dance Me to the End of Love," I was struck by his words. I wondered why these words connected with me so deeply. And then I realized that "the end" can also mean "the destination." What if life is a journey to Love? Private Collection
