"Neighbors Catching Up" is the product of playful art making. Mark the surface. Experiment with glazes. Take shards, break and rearrange. Let the creative spirit run. Allow new possibilities, new relationships, new worlds. In this case what emerged were birds of unlike feather taking time to find out the latest gossip as the dragonfly imagined its future.
My approach was influenced by the teaching of my friend Ilana Shafir who passed away in 2014 at the age of 90. She was an internationally respected artist living in Israel who taught numerous workshops in the US and elsewhere. I am eternally grateful to have known her.
